I was having problems trying to pick a song to submit. Let’s see, there’s Esthero, Ivana Santilli, K-Os, Saukrates, Brassmunk, Marco Polo, Jully Black, Main Source (1st album w/ the 2 DJs), Deborah Cox, Choclair, Glenn Lewis…bla bla bla, I can go on.

Anyway, here’s why I picked this chune.  

• Vibes is nice (even though it’s a remake of Arrested Development’s “Everyday People”)
• It underscores the heavy West Indian influence on the city
• Kardinal reminds me of home more than any of the above mentioned artists
• Makes me crave a good plate of curry goat roti…and some doubles (my Trini bredrens know what I’m talkin about)
• and well, vibes is nice
